It has three floors with a large central room surrounded by four smaller symmetrical rooms. It was built as a summer residence for nobility who lived in palazzos in the center of Lucca during the winter and spent the summers in the low-lying hills around Lucca where the temperatures were a few degrees cooler. Villa Samuele is luxurious property where every detail was considered when renovated. From the attentive staff, to the lavish rooms, it is perfect for a family, or 6 couples. Each of the bedrooms is large, every room with a luxurious private bath, and the whole house appointed with classic antique furniture. It is in close proximity to Lucca, and not far from the Autostrada, making trips to Florence convenient. Fine Points Exterior A cypress lined drive leads to the view of the classic façade. The property is situated among terraced hillsides, olive groves, rocky outcroppings and woodlands, the property itself with finely landscaped gardens. The pool and covered gazebo are to the right of the house. There is ample seating for 12, and is a perfect spot for dining al fresco. The 4 hectare property is adorned with olive trees, geraniums, rosemary and palms. To the rear of the house is a marble sculpture surrounded by grass and hedges, reminiscent of classic Tuscan gardenscapes. Interior The ground floor is made up of the kitchen, large dining room, bathroom, and a sitting area. The eat in kitchen has a marble table with seating for 8 people, a 6 burner gas stove, a wine cooler, professional espresso machine, dishwasher, an antique marble sink, and exposed beam ceiling. There is a bathroom off of the kitchen dual sinks and marble vanity. The adjoining dining room has an antique dining table with seating for 12, large stone fireplace, antique armoire, and a classic server. The sitting room has exposed beams ceilings, and an antique confessional that has been rescued and used as a bookcase. An elegant light blue couch, and chairs provides seating for 6. First Floor The first floor has very high ceilings adding to the palatial nature of the villa. All of the villa (including the bedrooms), is centrally wired with a hi-fi stereo system located in the music room. Stairs from the ground floor lead to an office with rich burgundy walls, antique sconces and white ceilings with elegantly patterned borders, and a marble fireplace. The antique desk is equipped with a computer (with internet access), and a printer. The music room has an antique piano, two silk couches, antique table and server, high ceilings, and elegant drapery. It is elegant and refined, and sets the tone for the rest of the villa. The Bedrooms All bedrooms are very large with high ceilings, each have individual temperature controlled AC, and each bedroom has a large luxurious ensuite bathroom. Large bedroom with king sized bed, dual bedside lighting, elegant burgundy headboard, terracotta floors, antique armoire, and dresser with marble vanity and mirror. There is seating for two at the foot of bed, perfect for reading. The large bathroom has oak floors, marble trim, large marble shower with adjustable height. The second bedroom is an aqua green with a gold and sand colored bed covering, dual bedside lighting and night tables. There is a terracotta floor, seating for two. The ensuite bath has dark oak floors, two windows, a large cast iron tub, white and grey marble trim, green walls, and a large marble shower with adjustable head. The third bedroom on the first floor is light blue with royal blue trim and a white ceiling. There is a large antique armoire, and dresser with marble top, dual bedside lighting and night tables. Ensuite bath has large marble shower, large old-fashioned cast iron tub, and oak floors. Second Floor The top of the steps leads to a sitting room with sand colored walls, an antique desk, terracotta floors, and s small seating area. A very large family room with six windows, including a Juliet balcony with views of the garden and is central to the top three bedrooms. It has ample seating and a home theater system. The Bedrooms The first bedroom has an antique dresser with marble vanity and mirror, large antique armoire, king size bed, a sitting area for two, elegant antique headboard and a rose and gold covered duvet. There are also dual bedside lighting and terracotta floors. The large, sunken ensuite bath has oak floors, a large cast iron tub, two windows, and a white tile shower. The second bedroom is cool sage tone with two twin beds (can be combined to a king), an antique dresser with mirror, large armoire, and seating for two. The ensuite bath has oak floors, two windows, and a large off white tile shower. The third bedroom on the second floor has light blue walls, terracotta floors, and a white and royal blue bedspread. There is a large antique armoire, dresser with marble top vanity and mirror, king size bed, and dual bedside lighting. The ensuite bath has an oak floor, a large cast iron tub, large tile shower, and wood beam ceilings. |
