Torre Sul Mare Talamone, Tuscany • 4 Bedrooms, sleeps 8 • Breathtaking 180 degree ocean views • Availability of one-day yacht excursion • Private dock • 5 minutes from beach Summary Torre Sul Mare is tucked away in a magical corner of Southern Tuscany near Talamone, perched up on top of a cliff, which overlooks the sea, and set amongst the authentic natural wonders of the Maremma Natural Park. The Torre has historic significance, as it was originally a Spanish tower erected to protect against the Saracen invasions. It has recently undergone restoration and is now the ideal house to rent for one’s extraordinary holidays. The tower is set upon 10 hectares of private land on a cliff overlooking the ocean, one cannot be but thoroughly impressed by the wonderful view and the natural beauty of the panorama. A remote controlled electronic gate leads to Agave lined drive with direct views of the tower and the ocean beyond. Fine Points Exterior The Tower is surrounded by two terraces, one of which has been transformed into a splendid panoramic lookout, amongst the greenery of the garden, and deckchairs. It is the perfect place to sit and enjoy the wonderful sunshine, or after sunset, to enjoy the company of good friends and a glass of wine around the barbecue. The Tower also has its own independent walking trail, which leads directly to the sea, and its own private sunbathing deck, which gives the opportunity of private boat docking. At the foot of the tower there is a Jacuzzi, perfect for enjoying cocktails while enjoying the sweeping views. Interior Ground Floor Upon entering the Foyer, there is an open dining area with a fireplace. To the left of the dining room, there is a fully equipped kitchen and access to two bedrooms. Bedrooms Each of the double bedrooms has an independent bathroom, one has a bathtub with handheld shower, and the other with an overhead shower. A corridor off of the dining room leads to the third double bedroom with an independent bathroom with both a shower and a bathtub. At the end of this corridor there is a staircase which leads to the first floor. Here we find an enormous living-room, equipped with air conditioning and fireplace, and from which one is free to admire a fabulous view at 180°. This living-room is furnished with comfortable lounge chairs and couches, on one side of the room and, on the other there is a rectangular antique wooden table which can easily accommodate up to 8 people. From this living-room, one has access to a splendid terrace which is divided into two areas: dining on one side and relaxation on the other, where we also find deckchairs suitable for sunbathing. The view from the terrace is breathtaking: it captures Porto S. Stefano and the hills of Mount Argentario on one side, and Talamone, with its charming walled town, and the hills of the Uccellina Natural Park on the other. One can also admire a spectacular view of the islands of Giannutri, Giglio and Montecristo, this last island being a very famous marine park. On returning to the open space on the ground floor there is a small staircase which leads to the lookout tower. This, too, has been restored, and is divided into two floors. It is made up of a double bedroom, with small bathroom containing shower facilities, walk in wardrobe and living-room corner. From the second floor, one has access to a small terrace. The Talamonaccio Tower is equipped with satellite television, direct telephone and internet. Every window has mosquito nets, and every bedroom has ceiling fans. The Tower is surrounded by two terraces, one of which has been transformed into a splendid panoramic lookout, amongst the greenery of the garden, and deckchairs.
