Summary
Terrubino is an elegant
private villa that is part of a large 250 acre wine making estate that also
makes olive oil, honey and rents a 12 room agriturismo. The estate is
surrounded by vineyards which produce a number of wines, from Chianti Classico,
as well as Super Tuscans, made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Syrah. The
river Arbia, mentioned in Dante’s Divine Comedy borders the property for 3kms
and is great spot for a picnic during the summer.
Terrubino is the
personal home of the owners of this large estate, and enjoys an idyllic, private
hilltop position with sweeping views. Terrubino, the original structure dating
back to the 13th century, has a long private drive with an electric
gated entrance lined with cypress trees. For the interior, the owners have
chosen beautiful fabrics throughout to compliment the elegant furnishings in
addition to travertine marble floors, and soft colored parquet floors in the
main living areas upstairs incorporated into the main bedrooms throughout.
Fine Points

furniture pieces made from the root of the water hyacinth, ideal for a relaxing
read, or siesta. Next door is the games room that has scrabble, chess, cards
etc.
From the villa, leading
down through a full garden to the pool area that is surrounded by a mini
Italianate formal garden, from which there are incredible views of Castello
Brolio and the surrounding countryside dotted with farms, vineyards, and
cypresses.
The pool house combines
