Summary

Sogno D’Oro is located in the Fiesole village of Compiobbi, about 11 kms east of Florence.   While only a 15 minute drive from the center of the city, Sogni D’Oro is very much a country home.  The villa is situated amidst rolling hills surrounded by olive and fruit trees and is landscaped with many varieties of flowers and herbs. The villa has been recently restored with wood floors, and contemporary elements, while maintaining a Tuscan flavor.  There is a lovely staff member on hand to cook traditional Tuscan dishes, and care for your everyday needs.

Fine Points

Exterior

One reaches the villa via a beautiful 4 km winding country road, from the main access road.  There is a remote controlled gate-no dirt road to the villa, onto a driveway lined with majestic ancient cypress trees. Off of the kitchen there is a large terrace with a pergola, sitting area, and is ideal for al fresco dining with its stone barbeque and outdoor sink.

Steps lead one to a lower terrace with infinity pool (16 x 5 meters), surrounded by various herbs, and fruit orchards. There are teak chaises and dining table, along with an outdoor shower.

Interior

The house has a spacious living room with dining area and three large windows, wooden beams, fireplace, and a beautiful inlaid dining table that can comfortably seat 14 people.

The modern kitchen is well stocked for entertaining. There is a library with SAT TV, telephone, fax, stereo and computer with WiFi  high speed internet access.

The contemporary bathrooms are of the highest standards combining marble, wood and authentic Italian ceramic tile.  Bathrooms are equipped with guest bath amenities from Chianti Cashmere Company as well as with hairdryers, bathrobes and heated towel racks.  Three of the five bathrooms have double sinks.

Ground Floor

The house is beautifully furnished with antiques, art, fine china and fine Italian linens and towels. On the ground floor there is a powder room., as well as two bedrooms/baths.  The majority of the living space is located on the first floor.

Bedrooms

The master bedroom has a king size bed, and a sitting area with French doors overlooking a terrace with fabulous views and an en-suite bath.

There is a double bedroom with king size bed (can be made up as two twins) with en-suite bath, French doors to the terrace and a ceiling fan.

First Floor

The first floor has a comfortable living room and dining area, and kitchen that opens on to large pergola for al fresco dining.

There is a double bedroom with large en-suite bath.
