Villa Pozzo, once an ancient farmstead of the 18th century is now a completely refurbished structure that faces the lovely and panoramic hills of the Val d’Orcia, whose importance has been recognized by “UNESCO” as a world heritage treasure, protected from development. This National Park fascinates you with its beautiful view and breath-taking landscapes, only minutes away from the medieval towns like Pienza, Montichiello, Bagno Vignoni, Montalcino, San Quirico d’Orcia and Montepulciano, as well as the thermal spas of the area. In recent years it has been chosen as the location for many important film sets like “The Gladiator”, “The English Patient” and “Under the Tuscan sun”. The surrounding valleys with fields of wheat and oats, vineyards and olive groves create an ever-changing panorama: from deep red to intense green, passing through warm shades of Siena brown; a scenery whose beauty is incomparable and whose panoramic view and colors change by season, the scene unique depending on the time of year. 

The owner, a well-regarded antiquity dealer, and lover of the Val D’Orcia, has personally taken care of the whole refurbishment and the interior design of the structure. The beauty of this place, besides the panorama, is found in the faithfulness to the original architecture, and traditional methods employed in the restoration and the inclusion of modern amenities.  Each one of the elegant suites provide every kind of comfort, many have fireplaces, all have either bathtub or shower, hairdryers, air conditioning and mini bar: a mix of classical and modern style in order to provide guests the necessary amenities in a classic location.

This villa is an opportunity for guests to stay in an incredible atmosphere whether that is in their suites or in the common areas, while enjoying an inclusive service experience.  In the dining room, our guests will find a continental breakfast every morning and by request will have the chance of enjoying the traditional Tuscan dishes at dinner. The owner sums it up as:  “To make our guests live a holiday feeling like at home, treated like friends although enjoying of every comfort and luxury: this is our philosophy”.

Exterior

Outside close to the Pozzo (A Well) there is a long glass table for a wonderful lunch or breakfast under a huge white sunshade. There is also a superb garden patio that invites you to relax comfortably.

Stairs leads you down to the spectacular swimming pool (7x12m) with teak patio, and chaise lounges, sunchairs, huge umbrellas and low tables.

To enjoy the panoramic views and the surrounding area, walking or mountain biking along these hills is possible.

Interior

The independent villa sleeps 14. The impressive entrance hall introduces the guests into the spectacular living room with two magnificent large arched glass doors with stunning views over the wonderful valley and Pienza. The spacious living room is equipped with antique sofas and comfortable armchairs in front of the spectacular fireplace for the cooler months of the year. The large oval dining table fits 14 comfortably with an antique sideboard. The kitchen is next to the dining room, and is for use of the staff.  On the ground floor there is also a powder room, a family room with fireplace, and a bedroom suite.

There is a double bedroom with a mezzanine floor with an additional bed and a private bathroom with Rain shower.

The staircase "La scaletta"
Like being surrounded by the fresh smell of Lavender flowers- Lavender surrounds the outside of the room and enriches the olfactory and visual senses. There is a fireplace, king sized bed, beautiful ornamental drapery, and the beautiful view of the spectacular valley. There is an ensuite bath that has a tub with large rain shower, dual sinks in the vanity, hair dryer and heated towel rack.

The Hawthorn "Il biancospino":
A wrought ironed stately king sized bed dominates this large bright room. There is an ensuite bath that has a tub with large rain shower, dual sinks in the vanity, hair dryer, and heated towel rack.

The Well "Il pozzo":
The huge room has a king sized bed beautified by a walnut armoire, and a sofa bed, situated in front of a unique fireplace, allowing guests to enjoy a fire in the privacy of their own rooms. The ensuite bathroom has a tub with dual sinks, heated towel rack and hair dryer.

FIRST FLOOR

Bedrooms

From the main house, there is an open, but covered staircase to the first floor. On the first floor there are three suites, each comprising a living area with fireplace, double bedroom (king beds) with private bathroom and a rain shower, one of the suites comprises a living room with a fireplace, and a double bedroom with ensuite bathroom with bath. There is access to the courtyard from the mezzanine floor and the first floor.

Each of the suites has an independent entrance and is decorated with antique family furniture and the bathrooms are finished in local stone. All rooms are equipped of all the necessary (and unnecessary!) comforts and amenities for a complete relaxing holiday. In each suite, in fact, our guests will find a bathroom with the whirlpool shower or hydro massage bathtub and are equipped of a personal bath-robe, slippers, air conditioning, TV, Internet access, telephone, mini bar and hair dryer. Each room has a unique atmosphere, while retaining the same amenities, so each guest has special accommodations.

The olive tree "L'ulivo":
From the huge Foyer, furnished with a comfortable sofa situated in front of a big fireplace, the guests reach the large bedroom with king sized bed that faces on the enchanting outline of Pienza on one side, and on the old Olive tree which dominates the court of the Villa, on the other.  Both the rooms have a huge wood beamed ceilings, which provides architectual flair and character.  The ensuite bathroom has double sinks in the vanity, and tub with rain shower.

The clays "Le crete":
his room offers never ending panoramic view, starting from Pienza until S. Quirico and down to the Mount Amiata. The huge living room is equipped with a comfortable sofa bed just in front of the fireplace. The king sized bedroom, warm and set apart, is dominated by a wonderful wrought iron bed, and has ensuite bathroom that includes a tub with rain shower, heated towel rack, dual sinks, and a hair dryer.

The wheat "Il grano":
This room faces the wheat and oat fields of the neighboring farm. The room has a wrought iron king sized bed and antique furniture and ensuite bath that includes a tub with rain shower, dual sinks, heated towel rack and hair dryer.

"L’aia":
“The window on the court-yard”
This Suite has a living area with sofa, and charming fireplace. The bedroom is furnished with an incredible baldachin king sized bed with dramatic drapery.   The ensuite bathroom includes tub with rain shower, dual sinks, heated towel rack, and a hair dryer.
