Summary

Montebello is a charming medieval hamlet surrounded by gently rolling green hills and vineyards. The exterior and interior of the villa are both traditional in style.  The villa is built on three levels, following the natural slope of the land. The indoor and outdoor space is focused on the surrounding vista.  In central position for visiting both Florence and Siena, Montebello is an intimate spot for three couples or a family vacation.

Fine Points

Exterior

There is a very large terracotta terrace that opens from the living area on the ground floor that has sweeping views of the surrounding hills and vineyards.  There are steps up from the terrace to a garden that can also be accessed from the private bedroom terrace on the first floor. The pool area has a covered dining area, chaises and a large umbrella.  From the terrace there is a sauna that is perfect for two people. 

Interior

Ground Floor

The ground floor has two bedrooms, the kitchen, dining area, living room and an intimate study with flat screen TV, DVD, stereo and a fireplace.

The kitchen has a 5 burner stove, marble counter, dual sinks, and opens to the dining room.  There is a long wooden table for eight and a wood server; the floors are made of the original terracotta tiles.

The Bedrooms

There are two bedrooms on the ground floor, one of the bedrooms smaller than the other three, and is better suited for young adults.  Every bedroom is ensuite. 

Rosa

Large double bedroom with an antique marble and wood dresser, antique armoire, and an ensuite bathroom finished in travertine with Venetian plaster walls, overhead rain shower, and bidet.

There is a small bedroom with two twins appropriate for young adults or children.  It has its own ensuite bathroom with shower, and bidet.

The next two floors consist of the two other private bedrooms, one bedroom to each floor.

Terrazzo

This bedroom has its own huge private terrace with beautiful views.  It has a dark burgundy double bed, walk in closet with ample space for two peoples clothes, suitcase etc.  There are dual bed lights, and antique desk and chairs.  The ensuite bathroom has a shower, bidet, the counters finished in Travertine.

Mansarda

Mansarda has two large built-in armoires, an amber colored bedspread, dual lights by the bed, and antique vanity.  The ensuite bathroom has dual sinks, travertine vanity, and a Jacuzzi tub with handheld shower.
