Summary
Matteucci is part of a very large estate that has several villas
that have been restored by the same enthusiastic
owner in full respect of their heritage.
The front of the villa has a small lake with
a little island that can be
reached by a charming
wooden bridge creating a unique spot for
relaxation and a lovely view.
The interior renovation has fully maintained the “terracotta”
floor and the extraordinary beamed ceiling in all the rooms. In the 19th
century
the Villa was the residence of Earl Felice
Matteuci, the inventor of the stroke engine, and still today is very much
beloved by our guests. It represents old world charm without sacrificing
modern comfort. There are 6
elegant and luxuriously appointed guestrooms each with magnificent en-suite
baths and shower facilities for up to 12 guests.
The
villa is the ideal place for exploring. It’s only 10
minutes from the center of the walled
town of Lucca, 30 minutes from the coast and the
beach, 40 minutes from Pisa airport,
and 1 hour from Florence
