Summary

Villa Impruneta is 900 square meters and is surrounded by vineyards and olive groves in the hillsides of Florentine Chianti, located on the road that connects Bagnolo to Impruneta. Impruneta is a quaint town whose reputation is related to the production of “cotto” (the cotto tiles of the Duomo, in Florence, were made in Impruneta). Villa Impruneta is located only 2 km from town.  The famous Imprunetine cotto is found in the amazing ceilings of the villa.

The villa was originally constructed in 1300, dominated by a stately tower. Villa Impruneta is situated a mere 12 km from Florence, a 20 minute drive to the center. It’s position is ideal for those who want to visit the Uffizi and Ponte Vecchio without the inconvenience of finding a parking space for their car, since only 100 mt from the villa’s gate there is the bus stop, and the bus will take you directly to the center of the city!  For those touring the countryside, the villa is only 5 minutes away from the highways leading to the most interesting spots in Tuscany: Siena, San Gimignano, Lucca, Pisa etc.

Fine Points

Exterior

Surrounding the villa is a beautiful garden with abundant olive groves, and laurel hedges.  There is a covered patio in front of the villa, with two arcades where it is possible to eat or relax in the shade.  A huge fig tree guarantees shadow and coolness even in the hottest months. There are plenty of deckchairs at the guests’ disposal.

There is an additional garden living area off of the front hall on the first floor. An elevated square garden with great views and a big oak tree where it’s possible to enjoy breakfast or have a relaxing aperitivo at sunset, or perfect for an informal dinner with the tasty dishes cooked by Grace, the villa’s cook.

The laurel hedges that surround the pool provide privacy for the guests.  Steps down from the villa, the pool is nestled among the olive trees, it measures 15 by 8 meters.

First Floor

On the first floor there is a large hall with a huge fireplace, 2 elegant living rooms (one of which has an office area with fax machine and DSL internet connection), dining hall with a large table suited for 14 guests, kitchen with microwave oven, traditional oven, freezer and two refrigerators, powder room, and 2 double bedrooms (screened windows) with en-suite bathrooms

One Bedroom has a king sized bed, and ensuite bath with shower.  There other bedroom also has a King sized bed, and ensuite bath with handheld shower and separate shower.

Second Floor

On the second floor there is a large hall with grand piano, and a comfortable living room with satellite tv.

The Bedrooms

There is a large double bedroom with king sized bed, with ensuite bath and tub with wall mounted shower.

Large bedroom with 2 twins sized beds that cannot combine, and ensuite bath.

There is a double bedroom with twins that cannot combine, along with a double bedroom with full sized bed that shares a bath with shower stall.

There are steps up to the Tower bedroom with living space with TV, two twin beds that combine, and private bath. There is one window.  This room is most appropriate for children.

Additional Amenities

The villa is equipped with WIRELESS Internet connection, satellite tv (with several channels of movies in English), fax machine, cd player, swimming pool (open June-September), hairdryer in all bathrooms, standing fans, high chair and portable crib for infants.

All bedrooms have mosquitos screens at the windows (no screens in the tower bedroom).

As a welcome gift at Villa Impruneta, we offer to our guests 2 bottles of the estates red wine and a small bottle of our extra-virgin olive oil. Guests are invited to tour the cellar and vineyards with the “fattore”.

It is also possible to organize cooking lessons at the villa.

Tennis courts and the Ugolino golf course are only few minutes away.
