Summary

In restoring Villa Girasole in to a comfortable vacation house of exceptional character, the owners’ main aim was to respect the original features of the building. The rooms have retained the wood-beamed ceilings, are well sized, and open to the most beautiful views of the valley, with wheat fields, olive groves and cypress trees.

The house is divided into two units: the ground level, once the stables, which can accommodate ten people, and the top level, where historically the farmers used to live, which sleeps four more people.  As a result, Girasole is the perfect setting for family reunions or groups of friends looking for an “oasis” of tranquility, surrounded by art and culture.

Fine Points:

Exterior

The extensive lawn offers a lot of open space and does not restrict the view around the farmhouse.  Terracotta pots with geraniums, wild roses and bushes of lavender and rosemary create a beautiful frame around the pool. The covered dining space with fireplace, pizza oven, barbeque, table and chairs allow guests to enjoy unforgettable Tuscan evenings.

Interior

On the ground floor there is a fully equipped chef’s kitchen, a huge living/dining room with double doors opening to the front patio and to the back garden.  In the smaller living room there is a large stone fireplace surrounded by wide red sofas offering a warm and cozy atmosphere.

Bedrooms

On the ground floor there are five spacious bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms (one bedroom has two twins).   The first floor has 2 ensuite bedrooms.

A stone outdoor staircase leads to the upper floor.  There are four breathtaking arched windows that overlook the valley and the huge oak tree in front of the house, creating an open and dynamic space.

Another large stone fireplace offers an ideal retreat for afternoon reading.

A second fully equipped kitchen will appeal to those who love cooking, and allow guests the versatility to cook upstairs or down, or allow the owner, Serena, to cook an authentic Tuscan meal for you.

Rental Rate -

 Specifics:

• A laundry room with washing machine, hangers, ironing board and iron is available for the guests.
• The house is equipped with satellite TV, telephone, dishwasher, oven, refrigerator freezer, and central heating.
• Maid service is provided for two hours a day, Monday thru Saturday.
• Extra cleaning and a cook can be arranged at an additional cost.
• Extra charges include telephone, wood for fireplaces, central heating.  Charges are based on consumption. 
• A cook is available for extra charge.
• Rates are per week and include electricity, and water use.
