    Profile

"Hoc praedium restauratum fuit A.D. 1802" : "this holding was restored in the year 1802" - This quote adorns the façade of Il Bosco, with its two levels of brick arches. The building, dating back to the XVII century, was probably a place where travellers going to Montalceto (a nearby hot spring hole) used to stop over. Il Bosco is positioned on a hill from which you see a range of the Tuscan hill-top towns, including Siena & Montalcino. The location of Villa Il Bosco is in the Crete Senesi, half an hour's drive from Pienza, Montepulciano and Montalcino. It is in a perfect position for visiting Tuscan hill towns and visiting the wine estates that produce Brunello and Vino Nobile.

The villa has been renovated to offer modern day luxuries, while keeping an old world feeling. It is furnished with family antiques, characterized by decorated coffered and cane- mesh ceilings typical of the "old Tuscan" ambience.

    Fine Points

    Surrounding Area

Il Bosco, located 35 km. South of Siena, in the heart of the "Crete" (the clay-region) belongs to the large farm, "La Selva", which spans 212 ha - an ancient property owned by the noble Tuscan family of affluent bankers that has been passed down from generation to generation. One of the products of the farm is a completely organic extra virgin olive oil. In addition, the very rare "white truffle" grows in the area.

    Exterior

A cypress lined driveway delivers you to Il Bosco. The property has old oak trees and lawns lined with hedges and flowers. The pool (of about 160 s.m.) has an organic shape with a corner seating area with jacuzzi jets. From the pool there are southwestern views of Monte Amiata, Montalcino and Siena. In addition, the pool area has a bathroom, changing room, as well as a cooking area.

    Interior

The Villa has 7 double bedrooms and a suite, each with telephone and a mini-bar.
